No rain. I know you are all getting tired of hearing me complain about the weather but damn – can’t the weather people ever get it right? I even had to water my plants today – they were way past due for a bit of refreshment. One plant only had one green leaf left – I expect to see more tomorrow since I doused it tonight. Even my succulents which draw moisture from the air were pretty sickly looking.
Outside the sun hides behind a sky full of clouds, teasing us with the prospect of a soaking rain that it has no intent on giving us. Somewhere in the high 80’s, the humidity is sending even the hardiest Floridian scrambling for a/c. I braved the outdoors earlier for an hour – it felt like I was breathing through a wet blanket.
Thunder rolled on by a bit ago – it was quite a symphony. I could listen to thunder all night but alas, it didn’t last long. Right now it is so still outside that I can hear the buds on the Night Jasmine bush opening to fill the night with its sweet scent. Lizards are afraid to move because any movement might cause the 15 or so birds hanging out on the power lines to swoop down on them. There is no place for the lizards to hide when everything is so hushed out.
Ok, enough on the weather.
While rearranging my condo, I began to question why I’ve even contemplated about moving north. There are so many things I need to do here – things I moved here to do. Can’t leave Florida with these things undone- if I do, what has this all been for?
Really need to get a dog or two. I want a Pug and a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. I know I said Boston Terrier before but they don’t have the scrunchy face that I love. Maybe I’ll name them Oscar and Felix after the Odd Couple. I know – its been done before – but not by me so who cares?
What I really need is a date with Vincent D. from Law and Order Criminal Intent. Is he good looking or what? Not a pretty boy like Brad or Leonardo but still, Vincent has charisma. I like the other two as well but Vincent seems more like a real man.
