Before I Forget…

The calltaker who took the helicopter crash call last week – one of the news stations pulled the 911 tape and when they played it on the air they made her sound like a confused, incompetent person. I listened to the call – the man was short and hung up on the calltaker long before she could get a lot of the information she needed.

This is just another reason I don’t want my shark 911 call put on the air. The media will mold the tape to whatever angle they want and I could be left looking like a real dunce.

Dead Wrong

Finished J.A. Jance’s book “Dead Wrong” tonight. It was pretty good though, as usual, predictable. I wonder if anyone can write a book anymore that would have a surprise ending? I doubt I could either.

The book is set in Arizona which makes the scenery interesting to me – I loved the desert when I went years ago. My son and I went horse back riding through the desert when he was younger.

Anyway, the book isn’t bad – if a little long winded. It jumps around a lot too which made me care less about the characters once I got three-fourths of the way through the book. Who died, who lived, who cared as long as it was over soon.

I picked up the book at Walgreens. Apparently it is part of a series with this same character. I doubt I will read any others and will probably take this book to work for others to read so I won’t feel compelled to add the others to my collection. I like to collect everything an author wrote once I start collecting them so taking it to work would circumvent that desire.

First Day Off

Had to get up early to go to the doctor. Early because I didn’t go to bed till after 2 am. Since getting out of the doctor’s, I’ve been running all my errands.

I finally gave in and went to Super Walmart for groceries. It is about 8 miles up the road which isn’t bad at all but the crowds were big. Not as big, I would imagine, has on the weekends.

Looking over my receipt, I must say I got some great deals. I bought more food and spent less money then I do at the grocery store here in my neighborhood. It was worth the trip.

From there I went to get my prescriptions and from there I ran to McDonald’s for lunch. Came home and put away everything before coming up here to the computer to eat my lunch.

There are so many things I should be doing today but I don’t feel like doing anything. Maybe I’ll take a quick nap…
