On That Note…

Went to the Bay earlier to relax a bit. The water was pretty rough so there wasn’t much of anyone out there. What a nice day it was early – but then it got way too hot.

I was outside talking to my neighbor for about 20 minutes – sitting on one of his lawn chairs in the shade – and was soaked with sweat when I came inside. He could have talked longer but I was feeling dehydrated so I left. He followed me all the way to the mailboxes and then down to my sidewalk before he went back home.

Was going to wash my car today but the weather channel kept predicting rain so I didn’t. It thundered a lot but didn’t rain at all – go figure.

Well, even though it is early, it is bedtime for me. Hope everyone stays safe!

Exhaustion

My muscles ache from all the painting. The pain starts in my hands and goes back into my shoulders. I have 8 ft high living room walls so my legs hurt from going up and down the ladder.

Found all of Simon’s toy balls under the couch. He is having a hard time trying to decide which one to play with. It is so cute watching him walk around with one in his mouth. He brings them to the top of the stairs and lets them bounce almost all the way down before he runs down and pounces on them. It is like having a little kid around.

Am kind of hungry – haven’t had anything but a chicken taco at 11 am and then a peanut butter sandwich at 4:30. Really don’t want to mess with cooking anything and don’t have any real snack food.

Painting

I have to say, I thought the painting would go a lot faster then it is. It is due to the stupid texture they sprayed on all the walls. It is hard to get every little speck of it covered and then I start noticing areas that didn’t get covered once the wall is dry. I’ve coated the two walls I’ve gotten done twice and will still have touchups to do tomorrow – plus the other two walls have to be painted their first coats yet.

When I first saw the paint on the wall a couple nights ago (I painted a splotch to see what it looked like) I wasn’t sure I would like the color but now that it is on two walls, I love it! I wanted a deep, rich color and that is what I got.

My days off are going so fast! Hardly seems possible.

The Beatitudes

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

Blessed are the merciful for they will be shown mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. Matthew 5:3-12

Wise and Foolish Builders

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the windows blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” Matthew 7: 24-27

Rabid Cat

Simon is throwing himself at the living room window like a rabid cat. The neighbors cat is out on the patio and, while Simon never goes outside, he seems to feel an obligation to fend off this marauding cat on our turf.

The cat, Booker, belongs to the nosy neighbor and while she claims he never comes down this far – I often see him on my patio. She is so gunho on rules for the dogs but lets her cats roam all over at night. Ugh.

Poor Simon, he’s going to hurt himself one of these nights.

Last Night I had…

Last night I had some crazy bad dreams. Though I can’t remember the details of each of them now, I do remember jerking awake several times with my heart racing with fear. Hate when that happens. I don’t know why I was afraid or what I was afraid of.

The medicine I’m taking for sleeping is not suppose to let me wake up for anything short of a nuclear explosion. Some nights it works great while other nights it seems like I didn’t take anything at all.

I took two pills earlier and am beginning to yawn every few minutes. My eyes are getting heavy yet I don’t want to go to bed yet. It is barely 12:30 am. I do want to get up early tomorrow though to tape up the living room so it will be ready for its first coat of paint by noon. :-)

Movies

My brother and I switched our movie to Sunday instead of tomorrow. He has to work part of the day tomorrow and I could use the extra time for painting. So basically Sunday worked out better for us both.

Haven’t thought too much about where we will go to eat or anything – I suppose I’ll think about that Sunday morning. :-)

Tea Time

I can’t seem to achieve a balance with my tea tonight. Either it has too much honey, too much sugar, or not enough of either. It is the size of the cup I think. Tonight’s is medium sized compared to my usual gargantuan size that I generally use.

I’m trying to quit drinking soda. Lately it has been burning the inside of my mouth. Last week I burnt my mouth and tongue when I took a drink of tea that had not cooled down sufficiently. Got blisters and everything from it – so I assume that is why the soda bothers me now. It is a good reason to quit anyway.

I got some of the things done that were on my list. I painted a big splotch of the new color on the living room wall. I’m not too sure I will like it but hopefully I will. I think once it is accented with a lighter lilac, fresh whites and warm yellows, it will look good.
