Damn Cable TV

Mrs. Fletcher was just going through the “this is what happened” part of the “Murder She Wrote” episode and the cable went out. Now how the hell am I suppose to know who did what to whom??

Of course, I can guess it was someone who wanted money, sex or power.

Rape

We also had a caller who wanted to call in a 35 yr old rape. I don’t know why she waited so long or the details…but the time of reporting is probably long past.

Funny…huh?

A bartender called 911 because one of the female patrons at his bar was telling other customers she had slept with him. Ok, maybe he was insulted but to call 911???

Choking Child

I had a call from a hysterical father who couldn’t get his 3 yr old little girl to wake up. He was driving and the girl was in the back seat in her carseat. He glanced in the rearview mirror and saw the child slumped over. In a panic, he drove to the nearest fire station for help.

What he didn’t know, couldn’t know, is that the units were out with the shooting victim. As I ran through instructions and the minute we got the child’s airway open she started to cry. Apparently the little girl had been eating a cookie and choked. Gotta tell you, I was exceptionally happy to hear her crying!

Shooting

Around noon a man in town answered his front door when someone knocked on it. On the other side were three people. One of them had a gun and shot the guy three times in his legs. One can surmise it was a drug deal gone bad by the area it occurred, but we haven’t heard the official word yet. Forensics spent the entire day there.

The guy was a trauma alert so we had to land a helicopter on a very busy street. Unfortunately, up the same road less then two miles there was a major gas leak so drivers were already ticked at being delayed there. So when they hit the second delay, we started getting bombarded with calls.

Why people call 911 and vent their road rage is just beyond me. We are not shutting down roads just to piss people off – there are legitimate reasons. Give us a break!
