Daylight Savings Time

We had the second every “grilled cheese” Sunday. Apparently they started it last week. We all pitched in $2 – sent someone to the store and then grilled up some sandwiches.

Tonight we had enough participants to also buy Tomato soup so it was quite a nice supper. Its fun when we all have a meal together though still at our individual pods.

Course everyone is watching “Extreme Makeover” which I can’t stand but hopefully it will be over soon. Its 8:40 pm so it has to end..doesn’t it? Hopefully it isn’t followed by “Dancing with the Stars.”

It kind of bums me that I finished the book early because now I’m at the mercy of the television. Can’t we turn the clocks ahead again?

Iowa

Back to thoughts about moving home to Iowa. I can’t help but wonder if I’m over thinking this move. I keep worrying about money and where I’ll stay – sometimes it makes the whole thing seem like such a monumental task.

Pretty much have to stay here till September so I tell myself anything is possible – to not feel so overwhelmed. I figured out that to have the amount of money I want I would have to save at least $500 per payperiod between now and September…like that is going to happen.

Ideally I’d like to move back to IA – buy a house and get a good job. Chances of it happening are very slim though. Would love to help my son buy a house as well. Why can’t I just be rich???

Blurry Eyed & Bushy Tailed

Blurry eyed I sit here trying to imagine how I’m going to make it through the last four hours – I am exhausted. I brought the book “Ice Moon” by Jan Costin Wagner which I got done in under eight hours. The book is set in Finland and Germany – the author is German and his wife Finnish so guess that is why.

It is the story of a police officer who loses his beloved wife to cancer. At the same time she dies, a man in the same city starts suffocating people. For some reason this makes a kind of mental link between the officer and killer.

The story is alright – I rolled my eyes a few times but nothing too bad. It takes place in winter so he describes icy roads, crispy winds, and snow drifts – it made me look forward to moving back to Iowa.

The author has two other books out at least but I won’t read anymore as this one wasn’t all that memorable. I was at the library getting another book when I ran across this one and got it solely based on the front cover.

BAXTER POSTS

Yes, the next several days there will be Baxter posts – sorry, can’t help it.

Baxter too me on a long walk before work – he was the talk of the park. We went over by the bay rather then the bridge as I don’t have doggie restraints yet for the car.

It took a lot longer then I would have guessed – partly due to the people stopping us to ask questions and meet him – partly due to his curiosity.

I did take water for him and he drank quite a bit. I didn’t want him to get dehydrated like an article I read last said they were prone to. Baxter was perfect on a leash, I was so impressed! He followed all my commands and didn’t bark at any of the other dogs or their owners. What a good doggie.

I decided to put him in the bathroom for the day rather then Simon. Baxter will probably just lay ground anyway while Simon likes to sit in the window meowing at bugs.

I hated putting either anywhere but people here crate their animals for 12 hrs at a time. I didn’t have a crate big enough so the bathroom was the best I could do.
