Adultery Anyone?

Work last night was hopping. The phones rang a lot and we had a lot of really stupid calls. My favorite by far though was a man who wanted to know if committing adultery could be used against him in his divorce.

I told him Florida is a “no fault” state – rule is whatever both parties owned before the marriage is theirs while anything attained after the nuptials has to be split 50-50. He was quite thrilled to hear that. Of course, I told him he’d have to consult a lawyer to know for sure but it just struck me as funny that he wanted to know. Was he planning on committing adultery and needed to know how stiff the penalty was if he was caught? Was he contemplating a divorce and wanted to know if it was going to cost him too much due to his infidelity? Who knows.

We had a caller who claimed to have been stabbed but didn’t know where he was. They spent two hours trying to find the guy – had our helicopter up and three counties working on it. I think it was a prank call but got to leave before find out for sure.

The day drug by so slowly – when 7pm came along I was sure it was 11pm!

Sorry Charlie

I know for a day off I haven’t written posts. Well, I have been busy doing some things. First I took Baxter on three walks today – we still have one more in us yet too. I went to Arby’s for lunch and then shopping at Walmart. Had to get a lot of things yet felt like I hardly ended up with anywhere near as much as the total was. In other words, shit keeps going up and pretty soon no one is going to be able to afford anything.

Gave Baxter a bath and got him all fresh smelling. He totally destroyed one of the cushions for the couch but it wasn’t like I was taking that couch with me anyway.

What a beautiful day! Just want to be outside the entire time.

By the way…

It is 61 degrees out – sounds great doesn’t it? But the humidity is at 80% so while it sounds cool, it is very humid – won’t be opening any windows tonight. Hope tomorrow is better.

My son said it was 38 degrees where he was – he was freezing cold. I reminded him it gets that way this time of year and a coat would be a good idea. It is his act of rebellion to not wear a coat until he comes down with bronchitus. Kind of nuts and I hope he grows out of it. LOL

Exhausted

I am really exhausted tonight and looking forward to going to bed – though won’t go for at least an hour yet. I don’t want to wake up in the middle of the night when I know Baxter will wake me up very early in the morning.

I have a lot of errands to do tomorrow – and clean, of course. I will probably walk Baxter and then run the errands so that I can be home at a reasonable hour – maybe go to the bay or beach.

Can’t think anymore, I’m too tired. We had some calls I was going to share but don’t feel like writing them out and know I’ll forget them by tomorrow. Sorry. Be safe people, and remember it’s a jungle out there.

Hide

So read the book “Hide” by Lisa Gardner today – it took me almost the whole 12 hrs. I tried to pace myself so I wouldn’t finish it way early like I did the book on Sunday.

Let me say, “Hide” was very good. It was fast paced and kept me guessing till the very end. I had the right answer – just the wrong characters in the parts. Have to say, I really enjoyed it and recommend it to anyone who wants an interesting book that has NO gore or deaths to speak of.

It has been awhile since a book stumped me on who was what and I really didn’t see the end coming till it was happening.

The story is about a young woman whose father keeps the family constantly moving for fear that someone is chasing them. The moving starts when the girl is seven years old. Along the way, her mom had committed suicide and her dad died when she was 21 in a car accident. The woman never knew what her father was running away from and always hated him for constantly uprooting their family.

Bodies are found in her hometown, one is identified as her so she contacts the police to tell them she was still alive. In doing so, she put down her gaurd letting the man who stalked her family for years to find her. I’m generalizing because I don’t want to give it away but I have to say, it is done in a way that keeps you in it’s grip wanting to find out more and more.

Cyclone

My house looks like a cyclone hit it. It is just a mess and I know I will be spending hours tomorrow cleaning it. At least I have tomorrow off – hope it is cool enough that I can open the window.
