When we go to Bridger-Teton National Forest in June, we are in the southern area of the park and I’m sure the northern is probably even more beautiful but the only cabins up there are the very rustic ones or that one that is close to the road. Now, as far as the information goes that I read about the one cabin in the northern section, the roadway is not traveled all that much and might not even be cleared yet in June. But I don’t know – I don’t want to insist on LaBarge and then have people disappointed we aren’t closer to the mountains. According to my map, LaBarge is right in the mountain range but without seeing pictures, I can’t tell what our scenery would be like. There are some hiking trails there close by too.
How long would it take to walk 30 miles? Cuz one scenic trail is 3o miles long but they said the end of it is spectacularly beautiful. I think it is too long but I don’t know how far a person could actually walk in a day if they kept up a steady pace. Course, a lot of it would be uphill and then we’d have to camp before walking back to our cabin…and we could be really sore…so that trail is probably out. They have ones that are just a few miles all the way up to the 30 mile one. We could probably do an 11 mile one -22 miles round trip – in a day if we were in good enough shape. I just don’t know what to expect really.
