The Sinner

Yesterday at work I read the book “The Sinner” by Tess Gerritsen. It too eight of my twelve hours to finish it though we were very busy so that accounted for some of the time.

The story follows Maura Isles and Jane Rizzoli as they try to solve the mysterious brutal murder at a catholic cloistered convent. What is the difference between a “cloistered” convent and a “regular” convent? Well, you’ll have to read the book to find that one out. J

Maura Isles is a morgue examiner and Jane Rizzoli is a detective. They are in several of Gerritsen’s books but each female holds her own character wise as they team up to catch the bad guys through forensics and good old gut feelings.\

I’ve read most of Gerritsen’s books and I must say this one is quite good. Even though I had it figured out mid-book, it still held my interest and kept me engaged in the storyline. I do recommend Gerritsen’s books if you enjoy a good murder mystery that doesn’t employ a lot of gore to gross you out.

Side note: If all priests were as good looking as she made Father Brophy sound, I might have to convert. :-)
