Arlington Park

Promised my sister I would write a post. I’ve actually written several but now that they are a few days old, they hardly seem worth typing in.
Baxter and I have been going to Arlington Park lately rather then our usual Payne Park for our morning walks. Baxter loves digging in the fallen leaves and prefers the little pond at Arlington over the fountain at Payne. I have to admit, Arlington is the prettier park but it is also 100 times busier which makes it unattractive to me.
Baxter loves to chase the squirrels, the ducks, turtles and today even a few butterflies that inhabit the park. While I know it isn’t good for him to do it from an animal lover’s point of view - it is funny to watch. I always give him a short leash so he doesn’t get within ten feet of whatever he is chasing so it isn’t like they are in any real danger.
Arlington is .541 miles around on the track - Payne says it is the same size but it seems a lot larger. I am going to have to get a pedometer to measure them myself I guess. Course, I’m leaving soon so who cares, right? It bothers me though. Payne takes a lot longer to walk 1 lap around then Arlington so I find it hard to believe it is the same size.
Baxter is such a hoot though. People love watching him swim around in the pond. His haircut has met with mixed reviews but since he is my dog, who cares what others think? I love it.
Almost acquired a puppy at work tonight but one of my coworkers who has been battling cancer wanted it so I didn’t press. It was adorable and would get to be about 30 pounds so a good size for Baxter. The supervisor only had the female which is fine with me as well. Guess it wasn’t meant to be. I would love to have another dog though and I know Baxter would as well.
