Surgery

Got to the hospital about 8:30am.  They put me in a room right away where I tried to get some sleep between the people stopping in for this reason or that.  The two hours till surgery went kind of slow but it finally came so they wheeled me into the surgery room.

The woman who took me to surgery was Mary Evans, a member of my extended family whom I hadn’t seen in years.  She recognized me right away but it took a minute before I could place her.  We chatted about our families as we went.

Right after I moved to a surgical bed and they put a warm blanket on me, I was out.  I don’t remember them giving me a shot or anything – one second I’m talking and the next I’m out cold.  When I woke up again, I was in the recovery room.  It was the strangest thing.  Maybe they added something in my IV?

Anyway, everything went well.  My doctor stopped by and said there had been no problems so that is great.  She said it would take about 4-6 weeks before I’d see an improvement in my energy level which kind of disappointed me but guess I can’t expect it to happen overnight.  The good thing is that, hopefully, it will work.  There is an 80% success rate so hope I’m in that category instead of the other 20% who then have to go on and get the hysterectomy.

I’m suppose to get some rest so put in a movie but don’t feel like sitting around watching it.  Wish I could write on my story.  Really need to be more disciplined where that is concerned.

Anyway, thank you for all your thoughts and prayers – I appreciate it!
