November is the above which means not a lot to those who don’t write but something fun for those who do. If you go to their website and sign up you can partake in the writing challenge for this month. It starts November 1st and ends at the end of the month. The challenge is to write a 50,000 word novel in the month. You update your word count often but at the end of the month you past your novel into the website so it’s automated counter can count the words officially. If you do it, you get a certificate of completion but, of course, the real reward is a 50,000 word manuscript.
No one reads the manuscript – the automated counter counts the words and then deletes it so you don’t have to worry about infringements or anything. I am looking forward to the challenge. I’m thinking I might write a ghost story – see if I can write a really spooky one since I’m always complaining that the ones I read aren’t scary enough.
Wish me luck! Thanks Victoria and Jade for bringing the contest to my attention.

Kathy,
I’m doing Nano too. This is my third time. I did get the 50,000 last year and really enjoyed the write-ins. Wish you were close enough to participate with our group. We always have a good time. Good luick!
